The tag to the left is unusual , it seems that these tags were used on equipment other than engines that R&V made. This one from th enew factory in East Moline.

The tag to the left here is from a wood lathe made in the Champaign, Illinois factory 1899 - 1901. R&V made a lot of other products besdies engines and cars, especially around WW1. They made metal lathes, shell making lathes and a lot of equipment in the manufacrue of munitions. These were supplies to other machine shops and manufacturing shops around the USA.
